About NetpopSearch |
Research MethodologyWe use a variety of techniques to investigate Broadbanders. From one-on-one interviews, small discussion groups, usability exercises, to online survey research, we select the most appropriate research methodology available for the objective of the research. As online research methodologies continue to evolve with the industry, we will continue to evaluate and incorporate the best approaches in our work. Currently, Netpop is based on an online survey of over 4,000 respondents per country who are members of research panels and thirteen years of age or older. Respondents are selected using our Start Rate™ Sampling Methodology, a proprietary sampling process to ensure that participants of the survey are representative of the Internet population in the target country based on age and gender.
Respondents are asked one question to identify those who usually access the Internet via a high-speed or broadband connection (any connection greater than 56 kilobits per second). Based on a randomly chosen sample of this size (N= 4000), there is 95 percent confidence that the results are statistically accurate to within 1.55 percent of the entire broadband population if the entire population had been polled. The survey is fielded annually in July/August, with results available starting in September. The first Netpop survey was fielded in 2006. In 2007, Netpop was fielded in the United States and China. Additional countries will be added shortly.
United States 2007: N=4068, 1.54% MoE |
