We're excited to be rolling-out a series Netpop reports on social media. Word is already getting out thanks to USA Today and Business Insider which covered our first "Social Animals" report this week.
I found it interesting that both publications mention the dramatic rise in micro-blogging. Of course, we need only look at recent events in the Middle East to witness the power of this channel, especially in the hands of young people. While micro-blogging as an activity is still evolving, its flexibility as a platform, coupled with its growing popularity, will certainly make it a trend to watch.
So stay tuned to Netpop in the coming month as we continue to release more research findings on micro-blogging. Upcoming reports include an analysis of Twitter's position in the U.S. and the Sina Weibo's position in China.
